On this day the route turns east into a semi desert area with rocky landscape surrounding lava tower where you reach an altitude of 4600m after about  5 hours walk. Lunch is served at a chosen area then later ascent the rocky scree path to Lava Tower. This descent to Barranco camp takes around 2hours and gives great opportunities for amazing photography of western breach and breach wall. The camp is located in a valley below the breach and great Barranco wall. You enjoy a beautiful sunset here as you wait for your dinner.

Formulate positive to facilitate yourself with the terrain before dark to avoid accidents. The summit is now 1345m up and you will make the final ascent the same night. You will prepare your equipment, ski stick and thermal clothing for your summit attempt. Later retire to bed at around 19h00 and try to catch some slip at Barafu camp.
